Well pump repair in Haddem CT.
Challenge
A customer called on a Saturday morning complaining of "no water". The customer is on a private well. The customer also has a Bubble Up waterborne radon mitigation system. The system was running constantly, but not sending any water to points of use. When an aeration system is starved for water because the good pump isn't pumping water - the blower will run constantly. After talking the owner through bypassing the aeration system, and them still not having any water, we proceeded to the house for an emergency "no water" call.
Upon arrival, we found that the well at this home does not have an exposed well head. The wellhead is in a good pit at the front of the property. As a result, we jumped down into the pit and proceeded to change the pump.
Solution
We ran some electrical checks on the pump and determined that the pump had a "locked rotor", causing high amperage draw, causing the circuit breaker to trip. We pulled the pump and replaced the pump and wire.
